Position Overview
We are seeking a pragmatic and business-oriented Legal Counsel to support Origen’s operations and strategic growth across the UAE and international markets. This role will provide comprehensive legal support across commercial transactions, government projects, partnerships, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate combines strong legal expertise with commercial acumen and risk awareness, acting as a trusted advisor to senior management while enabling business growth in a compliant and controlled manner.
Key Responsibilities
1. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including partnership agreements, NDAs, procurement contracts, consulting agreements, and technology licensing arrangements.
2. Provide legal support for enterprise projects, ensuring compliance with applicable UAE laws and relevant international regulations.
3. Advise business teams on legal risks and mitigation strategies in project bidding, contract execution, and cross-border transactions.
4. Support corporate governance matters, including board resolutions, shareholder matters, and internal policy development.
5. Oversee regulatory compliance across labor law, data protection, intellectual property, and technology-related regulations.
6. Manage disputes, claims, and external legal counsel where necessary.
7. Develop and optimize internal contract templates and legal processes to improve operational efficiency.
8. Monitor legal and regulatory developments in relevant industries and jurisdictions.
Candidate Profile
1. Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent); Master’s degree (LLM) preferred.
2. A qualified lawyer in a recognized jurisdiction is preferred.
3. 5+ years of legal experience, ideally in technology, ICT, AI, cloud, or government-related industries.
4. Strong familiarity with UAE corporate law, commercial law, and contract law, with the ability to provide practical legal guidance within the UAE regulatory framework.
5. Experience handling government contracts and cross-border transactions is highly desirable.
6. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
7. Excellent risk assessment and problem-solving capabilities.
8. Business-oriented mindset with the ability to balance compliance and commercial objectives.
9. Fluent in English; Arabic or Mandarin is a plus.
10. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
